Charges have been filed against the man accused of robbing a taxi driver at gunpoint.
The Herald Palladium reports that 22-year-old Anthony Yates stole cash from an Advance Cab driver in Benton Harbor back on February 26th, in the 100 block of Bellview Street. That's just a few blocks away from the police station.
The gun actually went off during the struggle. Yates is charged with armed robbery, among other things.
He was already serving time in the Ingham County Jail when charges were filed because of a parole violation. He was previously convicted in an unarmed robbery incident in Berrien County back in 2010.
