Cemetery vandals sentenced in court

Two men who vandalized a Dowagiac cemetery last year were sentenced in a Cass County court on Friday.

According to WSJM Radio, a judge ordered Enos Butrick, 19, and Clayton Warren, 23, to spend 270 days in jail with two years of probation and 200 hours of community service.

Additionally, the pair will have to pay nearly $17,000 in combined restitution payments to repair the 75 headstones and monuments they destroyed in Riverside Cemetery.

Warren will be credited 69 days already served behind bars, while Butrick will have 81 days counted towards his prison sentence. Both men apologized for the crime.
