Three people and a dog are recovering after a car T-boned an SUV on South Bend's east side just after five p.m.
The driver of the SUV told police that he started driving east on Ewing, when the white car ran the red light and hit him.
The impact pushed the vehicle on its side, trapping the driver inside. Firefighters broke the windshield to get him and his dog out.
The woman driving the car and a child inside were not hurt.
The man in the SUV was checked for arm pain, but did not go to the hospital.
