SOUTH BEND South Bend Police were called to the scene of a crash Wednesday night, involving a car and a train.

The call came in around 11:45p.m. It happened at the train crossing on South Leer, just south of Lincolnway. The tracks have been closed for construction work.

The driver abandoned the red Volvo station wagon before the crash, so no one was hurt.

Traffic is blocked in the area, but police say the closures aren't affecting any major roads.
