Business Expo After Hours connects local businessmen

SOUTH BEND One of the region's largest business networking events, the Business Expo After Hours, takes place Wednesday in South Bend.

It’s the 11th year of the event. Typically about 1,500 people and more than 155 companies participate in the expo, which is essentially a Business-to-business trade show combined with the feel of a cocktail reception.

“They just come to see what’s going on in the business community,” Chamber president and CEO Jeff Rea says. “Businesses introduce new products or talk about innovative things that are happening in their businesses.”

He says the networking leads to greater business in the future.

“It’s a great way to get your face in front of a lot of people,” he says.

The event runs from 4 to 7:30 at the Century Center. Admission is free, as long as you bring a business card. The expo is sponsored by the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce.
