Problems with a bridge in Starke County will have many drivers changing their routes over the next few months.
WKVI reports that bridge 70 on County Road 50 East, near 500 South, is too dangerous to cross.
The county had planned to replace the bridge next year, but the deterioration spread faster than they expected. Unfortunately they do not have funds to expedite the construction project, so the bridge will remain closed for quite some time.
They are looking into temporary alternatives, like building a culvert. In the meantime, drivers are advised to take C.R. 50 East to State Road 10, as a detour.
