Many customers were shocked to find out Between the Buns closed its Granger location Friday.
A sign posted on the door said the restaurant on 23 and Princess Way closed due to economic reasons.
"We sincerely thank everyone for their patronage during these past five years," it read.
Despite the empty parking lot, several residents showed up hoping to grab a meal Friday night.
They were greeted by locked doors.
"We just stopped to have dinner and it's closed," said Pamela Moellering, who owns a 7-11 down the street. "I'm shocked, totally."
Moellering says she was surprised by the closure because the restaurant appeared to have a large, loyal following.
While residents are sad to see the Between the Buns location close down, others are hopeful another restaurant will setup shop on the same corner.
"I'm hoping something good will happen here," said Granger resident Paul Knutson. "Maybe someone will buy the building and it will allow us to come eat here again."
NewsCenter 16 contacted the owner in charge of the Granger Between the Buns location Friday night, but our calls weren't returned.
