Benton Harbor police see positive results after increased enforcement

Benton Harbor, Mich. Police enforcement is on the rise in Benton Harbor and they're already seeing positive results from their heightened presence on the streets.

The city's department of public safety is reporting a 91 percent increase in arrest rates in August.

The number of tickets issued is also up 156 percent for the same time period.

With the department focusing their efforts on reducing the amount of home invasions in the community, there's been a 31 percent drop in burglaries this month compared to July.

Public safety officers say they've also taken steps to significantly beef up drug enforcement throughout Benton Harbor.
