Benton Harbor Benton Harbor public safety officers are closer to getting four new police vehicles.

The city commission voted unanimously to spend more than $170,000 to purchase them at a meeting on Monday.

Our reporting partners at The Herald Palladium say some commissioners had been unsure about the need for new cars back in June, but a presentation from the city manager Monday detailed how their current cars keep breaking down.

Benton Harbor’s Receivership Transition Advisory Board will now review the decision.
