BENTON HARBOR For the second year in a row, Benton Harbor Schools have balanced their yearly budget.
The schools superintendent tells The Herald Palladium they are also making headway decreasing the deficit, after paying off a large amount of long-term debt.
The district received $32.4 million in revenue this past school year. They were able to save enough to pay down $1.9 million in debt. The system still has more than $14 million in debt to pay off.
