A boil order has been issued for the town of Rochester.

The water department issued the advisory after coliform bacteria was discovered in two of the five water samples they collected.

Officials are increasing the chlorine levels to try to resolve the problem. But until then, all cooking and drinking water should be brought to a complete boil for five minutes before using it.

Residents are also being asked to conserve water, and only use what is necessary for household and personal needs.

Further testing was done to see if any other bacteria of greater concern were present.

Nothing was found in that test.
