Backpack giveaway on Saturday morning

South Bend students can pick up backpacks Saturday morning from our 16-Pack-a-Backpack drive.

We collected 3100 backpacks and all sorts of supplies during Pack-a-Backpack, all donated by you.

Schools are responsible for handing those out now.

The South Bend Community School Corporation is handing out backpacks at 9:00 Saturday morning.

They'll be at Jefferson Intermediate Traditional School on South Eddy Street.

It runs from 9 until noon, but you'll want to get there early because they're handed out on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Kids must have an adult with them to receive a backpack.
