Attention farming buffs: Oliver Tractor memorabilia on display in South Bend

Oliver Tractor collectors are making their way to South Bend for the first time in 17 years.

It is only the second time that the Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors Association has come to town for their annual conference. An estimated 450 tractor and machinery buffs from across the country are expected to make the trip.

Tractors, plows and other farm memorabilia will be on display at the Century Theatre in downtown South Bend through Saturday evening, and for those who grew up around Oliver Tractors, the conference is always a trip down memory lane.

“Why do people collect baseball cards or anything else? It's a thing you enjoyed as a child. I grew up on a farm. My uncle was an Oliver dealer and so growing up my toys were Oliver's,” said Larry Widner, President of the Hart-Parr Oliver Association.

For anyone interested in attending the conference and seeing a piece of farm history can stop by the Century Theatre between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.
