Attempted rape and sexual assault being investigated at Notre Dame

South Bend, Ind. An attempted rape and sexual assault are both being investigated on Notre Dame's campus.

Officials say one of the alleged incidents was reported by an alleged victim.

The victim reportedly told a school official it happened in the late hours of September 6, or early hours of September 7, in a North Quad Men's Residence Hall.

The second reportedly happened in the early morning hours of September 7, also in a North Quad Men's Residence Hall.

Students received the alerts of the alleged crimes by email, but the university says they have no evidence that the two incidents are connected.

University spokesman Dennis Brown said by email Tuesday, “As is standard procedure, we have notified the special victims unit and are actively investigating the report.”
