A South Bend man was arrested Thursday in connection with a double shooting last week.
According to Capt. Phil Trent of the South Bend Police Department, Derrick Jiggetts, 36, was taken into custody at a home on Florence Street. He faces preliminary charges of felony battery and possession of a handgun while classified as a felon by officials.
The shooting happened on Feb. 26 in the 2100 block of W. Hamilton St. Police say Marcus Northern, 52, was shot while another man was grazed by a bullet.
Police say Jiggets pulled out a gun during a disagreement between the three men. Northern was treated and released from the hospital later that day.
Jiggetts has an extensive record including a 1995 murder conviction from Chicago. He is being held without bond in the St. Joseph County Jail until he goes before a judge.
