Some old fashioned campaigning took place at the College Football Hall of Fame in downtown South Bend Thursday, and the candidate was paying people to vote.
Allegiant Air is traveling by bus to 77 cities around the country during their ‘Vote for Vacation"
The first 100 people to cast their ballot for their favorite vacation spot get a coupon worth $21.60, the amount of federal taxes you pay for a round trip fair.
Two free tickets are being awarded as we speak to those who voted Thursday afternoon.
Voters say it's a fun way for allegiant to campaign for their cause.
“Down here at least it sounds like we are airing something positive,” said Michelle Swain, a South Bend resident. “Go on vacation, enjoy yourself, you know where is your favorite destination place. And you hear all the ads and stuff and they just don't have anything good to say about each other. It's like why don't you back off and maybe they need a vacation,” she said laughing.
