PULASKI COUNTY An accused moped thief is under arrest, caught in a strange turn of events. He was found at the deputy prosecutor's home, asking for help.

WKVI reports that 32-year-old Dustin Kanschat is accused of taking the moped, and then stopping a ways a way to fix something. An investigating officer found the moped and a backpack that the victim said Kanschat was carrying, but Kanschat was not there.

The officer then stopped by the nearby deputy prosecutor's home to see if he had seen anything, and Kanschat happened to be inside. He had asked the prosecutor if he could use his phone because the moped ran out of gas.

Kanschat is now being held in the Pulaski County Jail.
