One of the area's biggest and best known employers could leave hundreds of local people without work for a few weeks.
AM General says it will shut down production at the Military Assembly Plant in Mishawaka for the first two weeks of October.
An AM General spokesperson tells NewsCenter 16 the company is in the process of finalizing a large international order, but the deal isn't finished yet.
The company says because of that it has to shutter production at the Military Assembly plant for two weeks beginning on October 1.
AM General believes that shut-down will give them enough time to get the needed approvals from the international customer and the U.S. Government.
The company's facilities in Livonia, Michigan and its headquarters in South Bend are not affected by the two week halt in production at the Military Plant.
