Construction crews began emergency repairs Wednesday morning on a well-traveled road in Mishawaka.
Day Road from Fir Road to Capital Avenue will be closed to traffic until 5 p.m. Thursday. Canadian National Railway requested the repairs.
Workers put up barricades and signs to block off the area as drivers were being rerouted. Parts of Day Road will be open to drivers needing access to their homes.
Residents are being asked to avoid the area during the closures.
