After 65 years of serving the community, Bayer Federal Credit Union and its Michiana Credit Union, has changed its name.

After today BFCU will now be called Inova Federal Credit Union.

Employees of Inova hope the new name will bring a fresh image to its growing company.

Inova says even though the name is changing, its mission to improve members financial well being has not.

"We absolutely will continue to be very community orientated. And we have made great strives in the last five years getting more involved in our community activities than which we were active and that will continue."

The Credit Union was first created in 1942.

It now has grown to 12 branches in six states.
