3-year-old, 1 other hospitalized after driver runs stop sign in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. A crash at the intersection of CR 19 and CR 26 in Elkhart sent two people to the hospital Saturday.

According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, the accident took place around noon.

It happened when a Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by Haiam Shank, 41, heading west on CR 26 failed to stop at a stop sign.

Shank collided with a Hyundai Sonata driven by Jennifer Pletcher, 21, who was heading north on CR 19.

Shank and a 3-year-old passenger in the Sonata, Kaiden Pletcher, were taken to IU Health Goshen with non-life threatening injuries.
