The Cass County Sheriff's Department is investigating a crash in Milton Township.
It happened at the intersection of Redfield St. and Brush Rd. on Tuesday just after 8 a.m. According to the Sheriff's Department, 51-year-old David Cooper, of Edwardsburg, was driving east bound on Redfield Street when he was blinded by the sun and failed to stop at the signed intersection. As a result, he crashed into the oncoming vehicle at the intersection, injuring 65-year-old Florence Szymborski, of Niles.
Both men were taken by ambulance to the St. Joseph Medical Center for further treatment. Police say both were using seat belts and alcohol was not a factor. But the case does remain under investigation.
