Dr. Conrad Murray sentenced Tuesday for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson

Four years in prison for the doctor who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the overdose death of Michael Jackson.

Tuesday a judge sentenced Dr. Conrad Murray to the maximum possible term, denouncing him as a reckless physician whose actions were a disgrace to the medical profession. Murray sat quietly, with his hands crossed, as the judge chastised him for what he called a "horrific violation of trust" while caring for Jackson.

Members of Jackson’s family had told the judge that they weren't seeking revenge, but that they wanted the doctor to get a stiff sentence as a warning to others. Meantime, the four-year sentence could end up being cut at least in half because of jail overcrowding.
