Luciano Pavarotti Dies at 71

One of the world's most famous opera singers has died.

Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti died early this morning.

He had been suffering kidney failure, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was at his home in Modena, Italy surrounded by family when he died.

Known for his passionate voice and commanding presence, Pavarotti will be remembered as one of the greatest tenors of his generation.

Luciano Pavarotti was 71-years old.
