Sam Young to break a Notre Dame record this Saturday

A landmark moment will almost assuredly happen on Saturday, and should not go unnoticed.
Barring an unforeseen development, Sam Young will start his 49th straight game. That's a Notre Dame record.
It's also every game in which he's played.
His first game was at Georgia Tech to open the 2006 season.
Young is part of an offensive line that has matured greatly over the last few years. In 2007, the o-line was considered a major weak point of the Irish -- now it's one of the team's strongest units.
Young is a main reason why.
The senior isn't sure what Saturday will feel like -- but he does remember what he saw on the faces of last year's seniors after an unexpected loss to Syracuse.
That's a feeling he doesn't want to have on his last day playing at Notre Dame Stadium.
