Notre Dame football coach Charlie Weis announced Tuesday that tight end Kyle Rudolph will likely miss the remainder of the regular season and isn't expected to practice again until December after injuring muscles in his shoulder in the 3rd quarter of last Saturday's loss against Navy.
Weis said it was originally feared that Rudolph had broken his collarbone but those x-rays came back negative over the weekend.
Mike Ragone will start at tight end Saturday night at Pitt with Bobby Burger, back from any injury of his own--will serve as the backup.
In other injury updates, Weis said running back Armando Allen will start at running back against Pitt after missing the last several games with an ankle injury. Same goes for offensive lineman Trevor Robinson.
