LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Two guys from Long Island, New York, are the last ones standing, or perhaps teetering, now that the World Series of Beer Pong IV is over.
More than 400 teams flocked to Las Vegas over the weekend to take a shot, literally in many cases, at a $50,000 prize.
It's played by tandems who line up cups of beer like bowling pins on two ends of a 14-foot table. Team members then take turns trying to toss a ping pong ball into the cups. The team that lands all the cups first wins -- the losers drink.
Among the official rules is that "No player may take offense to anything said or done during a game, even if it involves their mother."
In this instance competitors weren't forced to drink when they lost, a concession perhaps to critics who say the game encourages binge drinking.
