Attorney General Michael Mukasey is back at work.
He has also sent an e-mail to Justice Department staff, saying he feels "fine," and that tests have "come back with good results."
A spokeswoman earlier said doctors had ruled out a stroke or a cardiac problem as the cause of his collapse Thursday night at a dinner speech in Washington. She says he passed a treadmill stress test, an MRI, and a CT scan. The spokeswoman says, "It really appears to be a fainting spell."
Mukasey was accompanied by his wife as he left the hospital and got into a van for a ride back to the Justice Department. He told reporters he felt "excellent."
President Bush's spokeswoman says the president called Mukasey Friday morning to wish him a speedy recovery.
Before Mukasey collapsed, he began to slur his words. He was caught by men standing nearby as he started to fall.
