Irish rally to clip Boilers

For the first time this season, the Irish womens basketball team faced a double-digit deficit as Purdue played inspired hoops in the first half on Monday night in West Lafayette. Sharon Versyp's Boilers looked a lot better than a 7-6 team.

Much like the win over Vanderbilt, an Irish spurt at the end of the first half dropped the Purdue lead to only three. Not bad when one considers that captain Lindsay Schrader was held scoreless.

In the second half, Schrader scored all of her 15 to go along with 15 from Skylar Diggins to give the Irish a razor-thin lead down the stretch. But some key free throws by Diggins and Schrader was enough for the four-point win to send the Irish to a record of 13-0.

ND starts Big East play Saturday at home against Villanova.
