With more than a foot of snow on the ground in South Bend, some people are searching for an escape.

A two hour cease fire is long enough for movie goers to leave their battle, fought with plows and shovels, and focus instead on “Charlie Wilson’s War;” or forget about the legendary amount of snow fall, and check out “I am Legend.”

But the sweetest escape might be the real escape, to someplace greener and warmer.

The amount of time it took some passengers to get out of the South Bend Regional Airport on Wednesday was longer than normal because of ice on the tarmac. Some passengers we spoke to had been at the airport all day!

They say the wait is worth it to get to their final destinations, which include San Francisco and San Diego.
