Two years ago, South Bend's Brett Banasiewicz became the youngest to ever win a Dew Tour event when he won the BMX Dirt finals in Chicago at the age of 15.

He followed that up with two more dirt victories last year.

Entering the Dew Tour opener Sunday, Maddog in search of his first ever win in BMX Park.

He would get that.

Banasiewicz was in the lead heading into his final of three runs and put on a dazzling performance. There was still a possibility that defending Dew Cup Champion Scotty Cranmer could overtake it but Cranmer was feeling under the weather and unable to make his final run so Banasiewicz took the win.

"I'm still speechless," the 17-year-old wrote on twitter after his win in Ocean City, Maryland. "I knew I had it in me but knew if I didn't win, you guys would still have my back! But I pulled through and came out on top."

Banasiewicz begins his senior year of high school at South Bend Washington on Wednesday.
