CHICAGO (AP) - People with firsthand knowledge of the decision tell The Associated Press the semifinals of a proposed college football championship would rotate between the major bowls and not be tied to traditional conference sites.

They said Wednesday that under the plan, a selection committee would help pick the schools involved in a four-team playoff.

These are the key elements BCS commissioners plan to present to university presidents for approval next week in Washington.

The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the commissioners did not want to reveal many details before talking to their bosses.
