Posted: 8:43 PM Jun 20, 2012
Reporter: Associated Press

Indiana's most prominent Division I basketball teams are just as good in the classroom.

The Hoosiers' men's basketball team was one seven programs from the Bloomington campus that had a perfect score of 1,000 for the 2010-11 academic year. Indiana's four-year Academic Progress Rate score of 952 is a dramatic improvement over the 866 coach Tom Crean inherited in 2008. Crean's team also carries high expectations into next season after reaching the NCAA's regional semifinals last season.

Two-time NCAA tourney national runner-up Butler and Notre Dame each had perfect scores over the four-year measure. Purdue had a 995 and finished among the sport's top 10 percent in the four-year measures.

Twelve teams at Notre Dame got perfect scores. Butler had 10, while Purdue and Indiana each had two.
