A South Bend convenience store was the target of an armed robbery Friday evening.

Just before 7:30 p.m., police say two men walked into the Bargain Corner Store located in the 1800 block of S. Twychkenham, armed and prepared to rob the store.

One of the two men walked around the counter and pointed a gun at the clerk while the other stood by carrying a backpack.
The men asked the clerk to open up the safe only to find out that there was none. Officials say the suspects left the store with about $200 in cash.

One of the suspects is described as 5-foot 7-inches tall and of average build with dark skin, the other is described as 5-foot 9-inches tall weighed an estimated 160 pounds.
