Military job fair connects service members with employers

Veteran's day was just a few days before, but Thursday the South Bend community continued its efforts in supporting current military members, veterans, and their families.

Michiana Society For Human Resources Management, Indiana Tech, and Employer Support Guard Service sponsored a military job fair at the Century Center.

Volunteers from local businesses gathered to assist active military personnel and veterans in networking and finding career opportunities.

"It's a real broad range here today,” said Geoff McCuen, of the Society For Human Resources Management. “Educational institutions are here looking for adjunct professors. There are some financial institutions here--First Source Bank-- and others looking for some help in the financial areas and some of the tech areas. We've got manufacturing jobs with companies like Heartland RV, and Unifrax."

In addition to the career fair, Society for Human Resources Management also offers workshops in resume preparation for current and past military members.
