Congressman Upton talks about the health care reform

Congressman Fred Upton visited two Dowagiac manufacturers Thursday to highlight issues important to job creation.

The Republican Lawmaker stopped by Premier Tool & Die and then headed over to Ameriwood Industries. Congressman Upton took a brief time-out from his tours to talk with NewsCenter 16 about the last week's controversial ruling on health care.

He says he disagrees with the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold President Obama's signature law, and the increasing costs and taxes he claims will come with it.

"I support health care reform, but Obama Care was not the way to go,” says Congressman Fred Upton. “Remember, the promise was made that if you like your health insurance, you can keep it. For millions of Americans, that will not be the case."

The House vote on repealing the Affordable Care Act is slated for next Wednesday, July 11.
