The Berrien County sheriff's department says in a release that none of the ethanol leaked or spilled following the Saturday morning crash that shut down U.S. 12 for more than three hours in Niles Township, southwest of Grand Rapids.

The tanker was turning onto U.S. 12 about 3 a.m. when the collision occurred. The 45-year-old driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries and was taken to an Indiana hospital.

U.S. 12 was reopened about 6:45 a.m.

Authorities say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
