Berrien Springs explores city status
Berrien Springs may drop its status as a village and become a city.
The Village Council is exploring its options for asking the State Boundary Commission to make the change.
The council president says if it happens, residents will no longer have to pay township taxes.
He says if the decision is made to turn the village into a city, it could take a couple of years.
