Cutting out one can of sugary soda a day could help you child maintain a healthy weight.
A new study finds many American kids suffer from an "energy gap".
They eat more calories than they burn each day and it is causing an obesity epidemic.
Researchers found over a ten year period, the average child consumed 165 more calories than he needs each day; the equivalent of a can of soda.
Overweight children took in as many as 1,000 extra calories per day.
