Alcohol can Decrease the Quality of Sleep

That nightcap may do more harm than good.

Researchers from the University of Michigan say that while alcohol can initially help some people fall asleep; repeatedly doing so can decrease the quality of sleep, and even lead to alcoholism.

In their study of alcoholics going through the early stages of recovery, researchers say the subjects thought they were sleeping through the night just fine.

The tests showed their brains were really quite active which leads to poorer quality sleep.
