There is new evidence that doctors could someday replace damaged heart valves with cells grown in the patient's own body.
Researchers in Japan say they have successfully used a rabbit's cells to grow heart valve shaped tissue inside its body.
The work could eventually lead to growing replacement valves for humans. That could make it much more likely that your body would not reject the valve, which is a big concern for donated organs and tissues.
