Excess Fruit Juice, Excess Weight in Preschoolers

Too much fruit juice could add extra pounds to your preschooler.

A University of Pennsylvania study shows the more fruit juice kids drink, the more weight they gain over time.

However, the problems were only linked to kids who were already overweight.

Children who ate more whole fruit did not gain as much weight.

The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests kids, ages one to six should drink only four to six ounces of juice a day.
