Some Energy Drinks Contain More Caffeine Than Espresso Drinks, Says Study

Before you guzzle an energy drink to perk-up, read on!

A recent University of Florida study found some energy drinks contain more caffeine than espresso drinks.

With names like, Full Throttle, Khaos, Adrenaline Rush and Rock Star, energy drinks like these, pack taurine, ginseng and guarana, which are all types of stimulants.

"It will definitely give you that boost or that punch, however it can potentially have other side effects," says Nutritionist Claudia Morrison. "This may cause your heart to palpitate; [they] may stimulate you too much."

Energy drinks may also contain more than one serving. Therefore, if you drink the whole thing, you're getting a double shot of an already charged beverage.
