Why take three pills, when you only need to swallow one?
That is the idea behind a new three-in-one pill that is being developed to fight heart disease.
The "polypill" would contain aspirin, statins and ace inhibitors.
These are three drugs already known to prevent recurrent heart attacks.
The pill would likely be used in patients with a history of heart disease.
A lot more work is needed.
If all goes well, the polypill could be available in two years.
