Do New Moms Endanger Their Newborns With Old Habits?

Most new moms would do just about anything to get back to their pre-pregnancy weight.

Doctors worry women who used to smoke might revert to their old, unhealthy ways to help shed pounds.

An estimated two-thirds of women who quit smoking when pregnant will resume smoking after giving birth.

Why? Researchers found a link between concerns about post-partum weight and the likelihood a woman would be tempted to resume smoking.

Infant exposure to smoke has previously been linked to asthma, respiratory illness, and other health problems.
