Authorities say a man was killed when his single-engine plane crashed at a golf course in southeastern Michigan.
The crash happened Saturday morning at Wolcott Mill Golf Course.
It's in Macomb County's Ray Township, about 25 miles north of Detroit.
Huron-Clinton Metroparks police Chief George Phifer tells The Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens says the pilot was the only person on board. He identifies the victim as Charles Zichichi of Washington Township. He's believed to have been 77 or 78.
Authorities say the pilot took off in the Virus 912 shortly before from Ray Community Airport.
Authorities say he was unresponsive when medical personnel
reached him, and he died hours later at a hospital.
Phifer says the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
