Gov. Rick Snyder is getting into a different kind of race than the political one.
The Michigan governor plans to attend Saturday's International 500 Snowmobile Race in the Upper Peninsula's Sault Ste. Marie.
He'll ride a snowmobile one lap around the mile-long track at 9 a.m.
At 10 a.m., he'll drop the green flag to start the race. He also attended a Friday evening race reception.
Snyder is spending a few days in Michigan's Upper Peninsula holding town hall meetings and attending other events.
