Detroit fire crews fought a possible arson fire at a large commercial building on the city's east side that prompted some evacuations.
Video from the scene showed flames leaping Friday morning from the building, which is in an industrial area with homes nearby. There were no reports of injuries. Fire officials on the scene told reporters that the fire was brought under control after a few hours.
Smoke from the blaze dissipated by later Friday morning.
Detroit police Sgt. Eren Stephens tells the Detroit Free Press that officers on patrol arrested one of two men spotted in the area about 2:15 a.m., around when the fire started. Police say they dropped a trash bag containing gas cans and fled. The second man was being sought.
Hazardous materials crews also responded.
