Ehlers plans news conference to discuss his future
Lansing, MI Republican U.S. Rep. Vernon Ehlers of Grand Rapids has scheduled a news conference to discuss his future plans.

Republican U.S. Rep. Vernon Ehlers of Grand Rapids has scheduled a news conference to discuss his future plans.
His office said Tuesday that Ehlers will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. EST Wednesday in the foyer of the Gerald R. Ford Federal Building in Grand Rapids.
Messages seeking comment were left Tuesday with spokesmen for Ehlers' congressional and campaign offices.
Also Tuesday, Republican state Rep. Justin Amash a conservative Republican, announced he was running for the 3rd District seat Ehlers has held since winning a special election in December 1993 after U.S. Rep. Paul Henry died.
Ehlers, 76, previously served in the state House and Senate and taught physics at Calvin College for two decades.
