A teenager has avoided serious injury after the car she was driving plunged 50 feet from a west Michigan freeway and landed upside-down on railroad tracks.
The Grand Rapids Press reports the 18-year-old Greenville woman was entering Interstate 96 from U.S. 131 near Grand Rapids Saturday morning when she lost control of her car.
She struck another vehicle, drove up a snow bank and cleared the highway's guard rail. Her car fell to the tracks below and flipped over.
State police troopers say she spoke to them and walked to an ambulance. She was taken to a nearby hospital for observation.
